Mick McNamara Mick
began his musical career at the early age of 14, performing regular traditional music sessions around Dublin, his home town.
Influenced by his father’s enjoyment of Irish Music & Dance, Mick started out playing percussion and singing much loved
songs of the time, adding guitar soon after. His repertoire covers many music genres, including blues, country & other
contemporary classics. While performing with many of the great Irish traditional musicians - Gerry (Banjo) O’Connor, Patsy
Watchorn of the Dubliners, Maurice Lennon & Kieran Hanrahan of Stockton’s Wing , Finbar Furey & Paul Kelly (the
Mandolin Virtuoso) - Mick has had the pleasure of bringing the magic of Irish folk song to audiences as far a field as America,
Asia, Australia, and throughout Europe extensively. Mick enjoys what he does thoroughly and this is shown through his ability to
capture and entertain people worldwide; bringing his love for Irish Traditional Music to all nationalities. This creates a truly
exciting & unforgettable experience!! Mick currently resides in Co. Cavan, Ireland, with his wife and 2 daughters. While having
guest featured on many albums, he is in the process of writing his much awaited first solo album. http://www.myspace.com/guitarmickmc |
