Sara Corkery

Sara Corkery is a guitar player who was mentored both classically and acoustically by legendary guitarist and producer Declan Sinnott. As a young girl she became greatly interested in the fingerstyle playing of Doc Watson and the mandolin tunes of Bill Monroe,which nurtured in her a love of 'old timey' folk music and has greatly influenced her own stlye.

Sara was a member of the Cork based female vocal quintet 'The Joyful Mysteries' for many years. Since then Sara has been playing nationwide gigs, but recently has teamed up again with X-'Joyfuls'member Aine Whelan. Together they have recorded their debut album 'Dont Mind the Rain' which is due for release in May 2008.
